mise en scene, props and equipment
in terms of props, and mise en scene, i wanted to make my film a low budget as possible so i tried to use minimal amounts of props and and equipment. the majority of the props used were borrowed or free to use.
mise en scene and props
this is the costumin that will be used for the mysterious character. i have chosen to use black and grey as colours as i feel it will connote the darkbness of the chacrerter and the use of leather gloves symbolise a bad person ad is also a convention of thriller as a genre. the use of the grey hoodie allows their to be some contrast and also makes it easier to see when filming as i will be filming when the sun isnt out and if the chacretr is dressed completely in black, it may be harder view due to not having access to industry level lighting equipment. the use of the long jacket is to show the audience that this person is abnormal right away from how he is dressed, in the location he is in this is not the norm which will make him stand out.
all o the costuming for this characetr is pre owned so i will not have to buy any items for the costuming of this chacrecter.
for the children telling the story, i will have them wear econdrary school uniforms to convey the sense of innocence with the character. the uniform will be owned by the actors so this will not need to be purchased either.
the car will be used to convey the age of the chacacter and allow me to get some interesting shots. the colour of the car is black which i think is good as it gives the connotation of darkness and evil which is what i want to convey with this chareceter. The car belongs to me so buying a car is not neccesary.
in order to recreate the puupet, i will use an old bed sheet, black spray paint for the dots, and white face paint and eyeliner for the facial expressions.
to shoot my film i will be using the following equipement, i will use a standard camera to film the majority of my film and i will use the go pro at various times to get a few point of view shots. i will also use the go pro attatched to a reote control helicopter as this will allow me to get some moving birds eye shots and some smoother tracking shots. the cameras will be borrowed from my school so there will be no charge for using them and also the helicopter is pre owned so i will not have to go out and purchase this, i will be doing some test shoots of the helicopter shots to see if this will be possible to do or not.
