
Film Poster research
this reseacrh proved to be quite difficult for me for two reasons. one was because shortfilsm dont have traditional posters like you would see with most feature length hollywood productions and secondly, because the minute you type in thriller on google, michael jackson comes up in a wolf costume. from my distrubution exhibition reseacrch i noticed that the websites i found which exhibted shortfilms had posters on them which were used to intrigue the audience.

from looking at shortoftheweek, i noticed the dimensions of the poster were very different from a traditonal poster. i figured this was due to it being on a website layout where the aspect ratio was different. however when i thought about this dimension, i realsied my production will not be exhibited on a website such as this therefore, using this dimension wouldnt be neccesary. so from this i looked into standard film poster dimensions as a foundation for my fim poster. one thing i was able to take from this was the use of a synopsis in there. inlike posters from sequels of hollywood productins such as batman or marvel where chacretrs and plots are already known, i felt it would be a good idea to input this in my poster.
the next thing i wanted to research was some of the ocdes and conventions of posters. due to the effectiveness of hollywood prodcutions, i decided it would be a good idea to deconstrcut a hollywood poster aswell as shortfilm posters so i could attempt to find a happy medium. the posters i looked at were
